About the Project
Supporting our client Seqwater, Ventia deliver preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance along with electrical, mechanical and instrumental services across its water network. Servicing across 35 water treatment plants, 95 pump stations and 26 referable dams.
About the Role
You will play a key role in supporting the project by delivering efficient and accurate accounting services with a focus on month‑end activities, adhoc financial analysis and client billing.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Prepare and review cost accruals and revenue
- Review sales data, digital timesheets and purchase orders for customer billing, respond to customer queries and issue monthly invoices
- Conduct financial analysis and deep dives to support decision-making and project reviews.
- Monitor and investigate variance analysis, operating expenses and billing accuracy
- Complete month-end and year-end close processes, including checklist setup and approval.
- Respond to stakeholder requests including clients, auditors, and compliance bodies.
About you
You are a proactive and independent Project Accountant who brings:
- Exceptional attention to detail, especially in data analysis and reporting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
- High proficiency in SAP – integrating data for reporting and insights
- Experience in Ariba advantageous – purchase order management
- Understanding of Work Order systems and interrogation of data
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel capability, including automation, macros, advanced formulas, pivot tables, and lookups
- The ability to coach and support others, sharing knowledge to build team capability
