Join us on an 18‑month contract to strengthen payroll compliance and controls while partnering closely with People & Culture and Finance.
About the role
This 18‑month contract offers the opportunity to play a key role in strengthening our payroll compliance framework and enhancing the consistency and reliability of payroll operations. In this position, you will develop clear, comprehensive process documentation, uplift payroll controls, and ensure all activities meet legislative, audit and internal policy requirements. You’ll work closely with People & Culture and Finance to map end‑to‑end processes, align upstream and downstream practices, and support a strong control environment across the employee lifecycle. The role also involves contributing to BAU payroll work when needed, supporting audits with accurate and well‑maintained documentation, and identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce risk and improve the overall quality and transparency of payroll activities.
About you
- Proven end‑to‑end payroll experience in compliance heavy environments.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and requirements (PAYG, STP, superannuation, payroll tax, awards/EBAs, termination rules).
- Demonstrated capability in process mapping and documentation using ProMapp (or similar BPM) and Visio.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Collaborative communicator who builds effective relationships across People & Culture, Finance and the broader organisation.
- Highly organised, able to juggle competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and accountability.
- Detail‑driven and analytical, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Desirable Experience improving processes or enhancing controls through automation or AI‑enabled tools.
