About the Role
Ventia is hiring reliable and hardworking FIFO Utility Workers to support our remote camp operation in Maralinga, South Australia. This casual FIFO role works on a set 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster (15 days on, 13 days off), offering consistency and a predictable work pattern. You will fly from Adelaide Airport direct to Maralinga Airport, with all accommodation and meals provided while on site.
You’ll be rostered for an 11.5 hour shift, with start and finish times falling between approximately 3:30am and 9:30pm. During each shift, you’ll work as part of a small, supportive team performing a mix of housekeeping, general cleaning and kitchen hand duties that help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming “home away from home” for all camp residents.
This is a hands on, physical role suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work and thrives in a tight knit remote environment.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Clean and service camp accommodation rooms, offices, amenities, recreation/gym areas and common spaces to a high standard.
- Assist in the kitchen with basic food preparation, dishwashing, dining room cleaning and end of service clean downs.
- Maintain camp facilities, including emptying bins, tidying external areas and ensuring shared spaces are well presented.
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and correctly, following instructions and site procedures.
- Support camp operations by assisting with stock rotation, restocking supplies and maintaining orderly storage areas.
- Provide friendly, helpful customer service to camp residents, supporting a positive camp environment.
- Perform additional duties as required to support camp operations and contract requirements.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or camp utility work (remote experience highly regarded).
- Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently or in a small team.
- Physically fit and comfortable with hands on, repetitive tasks across long shifts.
- Valid Australian driver’s licence.
- Confident driving a manual 4WD vehicle (ability to pass a manual 4WD competency course is required).
- Ability to pass an in clinic medical (including drug and alcohol screening) and complete a National Police Check as part of pre-employment checks.
- Unrestricted Australian work rights.
