Ventia’s North East Link project is seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Supervisor to join the team during the pre-operational construction phase. In this role, you will support the mobilisation and preparation of the M&E maintenance team. The role will drive the development of maintenance processes, embed a strong safety and performance culture, and ensure the M&E team is fully ready to maintain M&E assets and systems as the project moves into the Operations and Maintenance phase.
This is a permanent full-time position, with an attractive salary on offer. The role is initially based in Abbotsford during construction and relocating to the future Motorway Control Centre in Bulleen.
Role responsibilities (Pre-Operations):
- Attend site inspections to gain asset construction knowledge and participate in construction inspections.
- Develop maintenance instructions processes and procedures, to ensure readiness for the transition to the Operations and Maintenance phase.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, and asset teams to understand asset handover requirements, critical system interfaces and testing and commissioning.
- Mobilise and prepare a future team of mechanical and electrical technicians, including recruitment, rostering, training and inductions.
- Support the readiness of the workshop, stores, plant, vehicles and equipment.
Role responsibilities (Operations Phase):
- Ensure M&E maintenance occurs to best practice and in accordance with the set maintenance standards.
- Provide sound knowledge and champion M&E maintenance activities.
- Supervise the M&E team, continuously training and supporting them, producing best practice M&E maintenance outcomes.
- Ensure the asset management system and works planning is followed, ensuring comprehensive records in the asset management system are maintained to the highest level Monitor and drive performance against maintenance KPIs.
- Coach and develop the maintenance team to maintain a high-performing, safety-focused culture.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying better ways of working and embedding lessons learned into maintenance practices.
- Be the technical expert for the M&E team, advising on complex matters.
About You
To be successful in your application, you will hold an Electrical A Grade licence with supervisory experience accompanied with the following:
- Experience in managing teams in critical infrastructure environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and sustain high-performing teams.
- Minimum 10 years of field work experience having worked in an industrial M&E capacity Basic control system and PLC knowledge.
- Drivers licence.
- Good understanding of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (e.g. IBM Maximo).
- Good working knowledge of MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel.
- High Voltage Safe Work Practices Certificate and/or High Voltage Switching Certificate will be highly regarded.
- Experience on road tunnel M&E systems will be highly regarded.
