9-month contract opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Road Asset Maintenance contract (possible extension / permanency dependent on work awarded).
The role offers the opportunity to deliver a diverse portfolio of road construction, maintenance, and capital upgrade projects across the SEQ region. This is a key leadership role within the project delivery team, ideal for an engineer who enjoys ownership, stakeholder engagement, and seeing projects delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.

About the Role
You are accountable for end-to-end delivery of road construction projects, including planning, cost control, quality assurance, and stakeholder coordination. You will lead site and engineering teams, work closely with TMR representatives and ensure compliance with project management plans, safety standards and contractual requirements.
Flexibility in working hours is required to support project delivery during traffic closures and operational interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ, project management plans and project specific plans
- Manage two-week lookahead programs and whole of project planning
- Oversee procurement, contractor management and resource allocation
- Monitor project costs, forecasting and monthly reporting
- Prepare and review head contract claims and certify contractor claims
- Ensure quality conformance (audits, NCRs, LOTs) and continuous improvements actions
- Stakeholder engagement
- Support scope development, constructability reviews, estimations and tender inputs
Required Skills and Experience
You will be a confident and capable Project Engineer with strong leadership skills and a collaborative approach. You are comfortable working in live traffic environments and managing priorities across complex road projects. Ideally you will also have Traffic Management Design qualification/experience and experience mentoring site engineers or junior staff.
- Bachelor’s degree Engineering (Civil) or related
- Drivers licence and construction white card
- Strong background in roadworks and pavement construction
- Proven experience managing project delivery, cost control and forecasting
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work autonomously and lead high performing teams
- Microsoft suite and project reporting tools
