About the role
Lead procurement, tactical sourcing and supplier operations related to management consultancy and service to the Corporation to meet its business needs in a timely and effective manner.

What you can expect with this role
- Lead the procurement planning, commercial sourcing advice and purchasing support to ensure alignment with broader sourcing strategy and procurement road map.
- Develop and lead strategies to optimise supplier selection, on-boarding and management, including contributing to eProcurement strategy and digital capability development.
- Identify and collaborate with major suppliers and contractors who can provide goods and services to meet the Corporation’s on-going needs, ensuring they are technically and commercially capable of providing and trading through e- procurement systems.
- Establish and maintain strong internal and external business networks.
- Provide advice, support, education and training in relation to procurement contracts, agreements, policies, standards and electronic procurement trading systems.
- Lead the formulation of appropriate purchasing performance reports and ensure they are ensuring best value for money practices and associated policy and guidelines are being adhered to
Your skills and experience
For this role, we are looking for great talent with:
- Tertiary (Post Secondary) level qualification in a business related discipline and / or extensive Procurement experience in a large multi-disciplined engineering focussed commercial organisation, OR
- Substantial experience in purchasing and supplier management strategies, plans, programs and systems, including the sourcing, planning and managing contracts and agreements for a range of goods, services and works, or
- Considerable experience and demonstrated advanced knowledge of the commercial management of Procurement.
- Well developed knowledge and understanding of contemporary Procurement management theory and practice, including advanced understanding of electronic trading applications and processes.
- Capable of working at senior level to facilitate and drive effective purchasing and supplier management.
- Ability to lead and deliver business efficiency and effectiveness through and application of best practice purchasing and supplier management business performance principles and practices
