We are excited to announce that we are seeking experienced Firefighters to join the Fire and Rescue operations at FLEET BASE WEST, WA.
Ventia has over 35 years’ experience working with Defence providing Firefighting Services. With a new contract awarded in 2024 to provide 6 +2 +2 years, now is the time to join Ventia’s Fire Services
About the roles
These exciting positions will see you work as part of a team of Firefighters who are responsible for responding to emergencies including incidents involving vessels at harbour, aviation, structural fire and bushfire. You will perform duties as directed by Station Management including but not limited to:
- Maintaining operational readiness in accordance with relevant procedures.
- Ensuring that all relevant administrative duties associated with operational duties are performed.
- Complying with operational health and safety requirements.
- Undertaking training and drills as required to maintain operational readiness.
You must:
- be from a recognised State/ Territory or Federal Service or for applicants applying with international experience, qualifications must meet current industry standard.
- supply evidence of the following qualifications with your application. (Only complete applications will be assessed).
The following minimum qualifications are required: - PUA20622 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
- PUA30619 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
- Hold a current HR drivers' licence
Special Conditions
These positions require the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1 – Secret).
Therefore, applicants must:
- Be an Australian Citizen
- Be able to pass an Australian Federal Police check
- Successfully complete a CASA Basic Class 2 pre‑employment medical
