About the role
We have a permanent opportunity for a Senior Planner joining our Asset Management Services team based in Leederville. In this role you’ll provide expertise to the business relating to the external approvals process for our asset investment program.

What the role will involve
- Provide guidance, consultancy and advice on the External Approvals Process for projects in the asset investment program
- Prepare Constraints mapping, External Approvals Tracking Spreadsheet and External Approvals Plan for identified projects in consultation with relevant internal stakeholders (for example Environment Branch and Aboriginal Heritage & Native Title Section)
- Ensure the external approvals process is maintained in a timely and consistent manner to reflect changing Water Corporation and regulatory requirements
- Provide external approvals advice and recommendations to Asset Planners/Project Managers to enable discussions with regulatory agencies to facilitate approvals
- Understands what evidence and data is needed to demonstrate compliance with legislative, regulatory and external technical requirements
- Analyses and interprets information to create compliance requirements
- Communicates effectively and establishes and maintains successful relationships (internal and external) for the purpose of delivering business outcomes and customer satisfaction
- Influence the development of a consistent approvals approach across different projects
About you
You’ll hold a tertiary level qualification in a related discipline, along with substantial experience in external approvals within asset management services. You’ll also have prior knowledge of statutory requirements, regulation and national standards associated with planning, approval and development of water related infrastructure schemes, systems and processes. Experience with investment program and project management procedures, and ability to collaborate, negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders will ensure success in this role. You will also have considerable experience providing end to end External Approvals support to projects in a large organisation. Possess sound computing skills and knowledge of Microsoft suite and mapping program Arc Pro.
