About the Role
Step into a leadership role where innovation meets environmental excellence. As Alcoa’s Regional Environment Manager - Air Quality & Noise, you’ll shape the future of environmental performance across Alcoa’s Australian operations.
Reporting to the Regional Environmental Director, you will be instrumental in the design, implementation, integration, and continuous improvement of Alcoa’s air quality and noise management systems across the Australian region. Working at the heart of our sustainability strategy, you’ll collaborate with global and regional teams to ensure compliance, foster innovation, and make a lasting impact on our communities and environment.
In this pivotal position, you will:
Develop and integrate air quality and noise management systems across the region, ensuring they meet ISO 14001 standards and reflect industry best practice.
Oversee adherence to air emissions and noise regulations, lead investigations into exceedances and complaints, and maintain strong governance frameworks.
Identify opportunities for improvement, champion initiatives that enhance environmental performance, and benchmark against leading practices.
Work closely with global, regional, and site-based teams to ensure consistency and alignment with shared environmental goals.
Deliver accurate environmental reporting, support compliance processes, and lead risk assessments and incident investigations.

What you can bring to the role
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or related field, or substantial experience within a similar environmental role.
Proven capability in air quality and noise management, governance, and compliance, with strong knowledge of Australian environmental laws, ISO 14001 standards, and risk management practices.
Proficiency in air dispersion modelling, stack emissions monitoring, pollutant control technologies, and environmental noise assessment.
Demonstrated experience leading high-performing teams, mentoring professionals, and driving change initiatives.
Advanced problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and long-term environmental performance strategies.
