About the Role
Join Alcoa as our Regional Rehabilitation & Biodiversity Manager and lead the way in shaping strategies that restore ecosystems and protect biodiversity across our Australian operations.
Based in Perth, this pivotal role drives regional strategy, ensures compliance with environmental standards, and champions innovation to deliver sustainable outcomes. You’ll inspire a high-performing team, engage stakeholders, and turn data into actionable insights that make a real impact.
In this role, your key purpose and focus areas will be:
Leading Regional Strategy: Drive land rehabilitation and biodiversity initiatives aligned with corporate vision, regulatory requirements, and sustainability goals.
Ensuring Compliance & Governance: Oversee frameworks to meet environmental legislation, ISO 14001 standards, and internal policies while managing risk.
Monitoring & Reporting Performance: Analyse and report rehabilitation and biodiversity data to inform strategic decisions and continuous improvement.
Engaging & Building Capability: Act as a trusted advisor on ecological restoration and habitat management while developing team capability through training and guidance.
Inspiring Leadership & Collaboration: Lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship, innovation, and shared accountability.

What you can bring to the role
Tertiary degree in Environmental Science, Biodiversity, or a related field, or substantial experience within a similar environmental role.
Proven experience in environmental management, rehabilitation, and biodiversity programs within the resources or industrial sector.
Strong knowledge of Australian environmental laws and regulations, plus experience in risk management and mitigation strategies.
Exceptional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence outcomes across diverse teams.
Strategic thinker with a track record of delivering innovative solutions for complex environmental challenges.
Ability to integrate technical knowledge with strategic planning to deliver sustainable environmental outcomes.
Familiarity with GIS systems, ASI standards, Equis, and Microsoft Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
