The opportunity
The CSIRO Business and Infrastructure Services (CBIS) team manage a complex property portfolio of over 1,000 buildings across 55 locations nationally and internationally. We have an opportunity for a CBIS Officer - Facilities to join our team.
As the CBIS Officer – Facilities, you will help coordinate facilities services, manage work orders, and liaise with contractors across SA sites. This hands-on role is integral in ensuring the seamless operation of critical facilities supporting scientific research, national infrastructure, and office spaces.

Please note, at times the role involves occasional out of hours work, participation in emergency response rosters and the ability to physically access all equipment at these sites.
Your duties will include:
- Monitoring and reporting on facilities services to ensure contractor compliance with service agreements and CSIRO standards.
- Managing end-to-end work order processes using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders and responding efficiently to site-based issues and service requests.
- Supporting operational needs such as inductions, permit management, site inspections, and emergency call-outs as required.

Salary: AU$76k – AU$96k per annum (pro rata for part-time) plus 15.4% superannuation
(On-call allowance offered in additional to base salary)
Tenure: Indefinite, Full-time or Part-time (0.6 FTE minimum)

As the successful candidate, you will bring:
Essential criteria
- Ability to work under limited direction, accept responsibility and direction, and be accountable for on-site service provision, including capability to co-ordinate trade and other services contractors to ensure delivery of services in accordance with relevant time, cost, quality, statutory and user satisfaction requirements.
- Good interpersonal skills and a sense of customer service with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Experience with relevant computer software comprising Microsoft, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Possess and maintain a current driver's license.
Desirable
- Relevant tertiary qualification or trade and previous experience in Property, Administration or Facilities Management.
- Ability to undertake occasional hands-on “handyperson style works” as required, with experience performing general maintenance duties.
- Previous experience in managing a diverse range of complex and highly serviced research and support facilities.
