About the Role
Ventia is seeking an Estate Appraisal Assessor to support our Property & Asset Services team. This role plays a critical part in planning, coordinating, and delivering estate appraisal activities across Defence sites. You will ensure asset condition accuracy, maintain data integrity, and prepare work recommendations that support the Defence Estate Works Program.
Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
SHEQ Responsibilities
- Comply with all SHEQ management systems and statutory requirements.
- Promote a positive safety culture and model safe work practices.
- Identify non-conformities and support corrective actions.
- Complete mandatory SHEQ training and contribute to zero-harm initiatives.
Operational Excellence
- Develop and manage physical appraisal schedules.
- Coordinate asbestos hazard inspections in line with Defence requirements.
- Conduct QA checks and prepare recommendations for the Estate Works Program.
- Update Defence asset databases and maintain data integrity.
- Support annual desktop appraisals and coordinate technical inputs (Fire Safety Surveys, Heritage Plans, Range Safety Inspections).
- Manage Estate Appraisal work orders in SAP and GEMS.
- Provide weekly and monthly reporting, including responses to Defence assurance requests.
Customer Engagement
- Liaise with Defence personnel to organise site access for appraisals.
- Maintain strong relationships with PAS and Defence stakeholders.
- Clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
Team Development & Culture
- Collaborate with technical officers and internal service lines.
- Foster teamwork, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

About You:
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Asset Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or related discipline (desirable).
Skills
- Strong knowledge of asset management and estate appraisal principles.
- Proficiency in SAP, MS Word, and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail, organisation, and problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to work independently in complex environments.
- Collaborative approach and adaptability.
Experience
- Experience in asset appraisal, facilities management, or a similar role (Defence experience desirable).
- Familiarity with compliance-driven environments and technical reporting.
You must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance.Therefore, applicants must be Australian Citizens and willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police Check.
