Grade: Clerk Grade 5/6
Salary: $99,938 – $110,271pa
(plus employers’ contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading)

Join the Strategic Finance – Reporting & Analytics team at the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and help deliver initiatives that strengthen financial reporting, analytics and business processes across the organisation.
This is a great opportunity to build your project and corporate support experience in a team that plays a key role in financial planning, reporting and performance insights.
Your role
As an Assistant Project Officer, you will provide research, coordination, reporting and administrative support to assist in the delivery of projects and process improvements across the Strategic Finance function.
You’ll work closely with team members and stakeholders to help ensure initiatives are well coordinated, documented and delivered in line with agreed timeframes and standards.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will:
- Provide project and operational support, including monitoring project activities, milestones and deliverables
- Update and maintain documentation, records and reporting to support financial and reporting-related initiatives
- Undertake research and basic analysis to inform project planning and decision-making
- Assist team members with coordination and implementation of projects and process improvements
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to provide updates on project status and implementation activities
- Provide secretariat and administrative support, including coordinating meetings and preparing papers
You’ll work in a collaborative team environment supporting initiatives that strengthen financial reporting, analytics and business processes.
What we’re looking for
We’re seeking someone who is organised, detail-focused and keen to build their skills in a finance and reporting environment. You will bring:
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Experience providing administrative or project support
- Ability to undertake research and basic analysis to support informed decision-making
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
Experience working in a finance, reporting, analytics or corporate environment will be highly regarded.
