Join Ventia as a Junior Procurement Officer and kick‑start your commercial career in a high‑impact role based in Laverton North.
We’re looking for a motivated, detail‑driven professional to support pre‑contracts, supplier engagement, negotiation activities, and rate management. You’ll contribute to end‑to‑end procurement outcomes while learning from an experienced team committed to your growth and development.
Ventia plays a major role in the Western Roads Upgrade (WRU), delivering long‑term road maintenance and asset management across Melbourne’s western suburbs. The project is one of Victoria’s largest road maintenance programs, combining real‑time data, 24/7 network monitoring, and a 20‑year contract to improve safety, reliability, and whole‑of‑life asset performance.
Role responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation, coordination, and review of pre‑contract and post contract documents.
- Support sourcing activities, tender evaluations, and contract award processes.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing, commercial information, and product details.
- Maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring procurement needs are clearly understood and met.
- Assist with the creation, analysis, and maintenance of rate tables and pricing schedules.
- Prepare purchase orders, variation documentation, and associated commercial records.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement data within relevant systems.
About You
To be successful in your application, you will ideally have exposure to negotiation preparation and / or commercial modelling and looking for a role to develop and shape your future.
You will also possess:
- Experience with procurement or contact management systems
- A good understanding of supplier performance and category management practices
- Be highly organised and a strong troubleshooting mindset
- Very good skills in MS Office and quickly learning new applications.
