About the role
We are seeking an organised, proactive, and detail-focused Transport Scheduler to join our team at Victoria Barracks. In this role, you will coordinate the daily movement of personnel, vehicles, and freight to ensure efficient, safe, and timely transport operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong planning capability, excellent stakeholder communication skills, and experience working in a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage daily transport schedules for personnel, equipment, and vehicle movements.
- Allocate vehicles and drivers in line with operational priorities and resource availability.
- Monitor real-time transport operations and adjust schedules as required to address delays, changes, or urgent requests.
- Maintain accurate records of bookings, fleet utilisation, and movement logs.
- Liaise with stakeholders to coordinate requirements.
- Ensure compliance with transport policies, safety standards, and security protocols.
- Provide regular reporting on transport efficiency, utilisation, and issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling processes and overall service delivery.
About you
- Experience in transport coordination, scheduling, logistics, or fleet management (military or government experience beneficial but not required).
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency with scheduling systems, databases, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with operational demands that may change rapidly.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Understanding of compliance, safety, and security considerations in transport operations.
- Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police.
