About the Role
Due to our continued success partnering with the Australian Defence Force, Ventia have an opportunity for a National Fleet Manager on our Defence Clothing Services contract (DCS).
The new contract will see Ventia partner with experienced Australian organisations to deliver clothing design and supply, warehousing, distribution, and clothing store services.
The National Fleet Manager will be located in Laverton, VIC and this role is to lead the operational and strategic management of Defence Clothing System inventory across our national network.
Reporting to the Network Inventory Manager, this role is critical in ensuring the availability, suitability, and compliance of fleet inventory, including Combat, Non-Combat, and PPE while supporting Defence capability and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead national fleet inventory management, including forecasting and supply planning.
- Ensure inventory suitability and fitness for purpose across all categories.
- Collaborate with Defence stakeholders and internal teams to maintain inventory integrity.
- Liaise with Engineering on new specifications and manage RODUMS (Report on Defective or Unsatisfactory Materials).
- Drive consistency in service delivery and uphold contractual compliance.
- Promote a customer-centric culture and act as the initial point of escalation for issue resolution.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in a logistics environment, preferably within Defence.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Defence systems ideal or other enterprise ERP systems.
- Ability to work flexibly within a small, high-performing team.
- Tertiary qualifications in logistics, supply chain, or a related field (preferred).
Other Conditions
- Must hold or be eligible for Defence Security Clearance (Baseline, NV1, NV2, or PV).
- Must pass an Australian Federal Police check and maintain a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
