About the role
We are seeking a reliable, organised, and motivated Administrative Officer to provide high‑quality administrative and coordination support across the team. This role is well suited to a young person with existing admin experience who is keen to further develop their skills and build a long‑term career.
The position is busy, varied, and integral to the smooth operation of the workplace.
A typical day involves supporting staff across the organisation by ensuring meetings are well organised, documentation is accurate and distributed promptly, invoices and bookings are processed efficiently, and events and consultations are well coordinated. The role plays a key part in keeping the team organised, informed, and operating effectively.

What you can expect with this role
You will provide administrative support across a range of functions, including:
- Coordinating meetings, including booking rooms, setting up Webex links, and arranging catering
- Taking accurate meeting minutes and distributing them in a timely manner
- Supporting internal and external meetings, consultations, and stakeholder engagements
- Processing invoices and maintaining administrative records
- Arranging staff travel and booking professional development and training
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of events, including NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week
- Supporting RAP Steering Group and Sub‑Committee meetings
- Updating internal webpages and administrative information
Your skills and experience
- A strong work ethic, demonstrated by reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to learn, with a genuine interest in building a long‑term career
- An understanding of contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, or a demonstrated commitment to developing this understanding
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines (this is a mandatory requirement)
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision when required
