The Opportunity
This is a 12-month full-time fixed-term role based in North Sydney, with a strong likelihood of extension. As our SAP Platform and Security Lead, you will be responsible for the end-to-end security and ongoing maintenance of the Ventia SAP landscape, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, availability, and compliance across all SAP platforms.
The role provides both leadership and hands-on expertise to design, implement, and manage SAP security controls aligned with enterprise cyber frameworks, regulatory requirements, and business priorities. It also oversees platform maintenance planning, scheduling, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities
- Define and govern SAP security strategy, policies, roadmap, and standards aligned with ISO 27001, NIST, and Essential Eight frameworks.
- Lead SAP security across the enterprise landscape (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, BTP, SuccessFactors, Ariba, and SaaS), including role design, access provisioning, and governance.
- Act as escalation point for security incidents, audit findings, risk, compliance, and platform stability issues.
- Partner with Cyber Security, Risk, Audit, and Architecture teams to embed secure-by-design principles and ensure regulatory and control compliance.
- Integrate SAP with enterprise IAM (e.g. Azure AD), including SSO, MFA, and identity lifecycle management.
- Define and enforce security requirements across integrations, APIs, custom code, and third-party solutions.
- Manage vulnerability remediation, SAP Security Notes, patching, and incident response in coordination with AMS and security teams.
- Oversee SAP logging, monitoring, and alerting to support threat detection and response.
- Own SAP landscape governance, ensuring secure configuration, stability, and controlled change across all environments.
- Provide security guidance translating technical risk into business impact and mentor teams to uplift SAP security capability across internal and external stakeholders.
About You
- Strong SAP Security experience in large, complex environments, including authorisations, role design, and security across S/4HANA, ECC, and SAP BTP.
- Experience with SAP GRC Access Control and integration with enterprise IAM, SSO, and MFA solutions.
- Solid understanding of cyber security frameworks, risk, and compliance.
- Experience managing SAP platforms, including exposure to SAP Basis and cloud-based architectures.
- Knowledge of SAP transport, release, and environment management practices.
- Proven vendor and service management capability within ITIL-aligned environments.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience supporting audits and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to influence stakeholders, think strategically, and deliver outcomes collaboratively.
- Pragmatic, delivery-focused, and committed to continuous learning.
Desirable:
- Experience with SAP cloud solutions (e.g. SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur).
- Knowledge of SIEM integration, SAP logging, and SOC operations.
- Exposure to large SAP transformation programs.
- SAP Security certifications (e.g. SAP GRC, Authorisations) – desirable
- Cyber security certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CRISC) – desirable
