About the Role
This is an opportunity to step into a pivotal role supporting Ventia’s operations across Australia. As Purchasing Officer, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end purchasing of goods and services, ensuring all activity aligns with Ventia’s policies, standards and operational requirements.
Based in our Toowoomba CBD office, you’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team environment where accuracy, efficiency and strong relationships matter. This role offers stability, variety and the chance to build a long-term career with a leading essential services organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing purchase requisitions received from internal stakeholders
- Obtaining quotes and coordinating supplier pricing
- Creating, issuing and managing Purchase Orders
- Processing invoices and supporting accurate financial records
- Collating, entering and maintaining purchasing data
- Following up queries with internal teams and departments
- Sourcing materials from internal warehouses and external suppliers

Skills and Experience
This role suits someone with strong transferable skills and a practical, detail-focused approach. Experience in areas such as parts interpreting, warehousing, sales, customer service or retail will be highly regarded.
You’ll also bring:
- Strong computer skills with confidence using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing tasks
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment
- Strong organisational skills and effective time management
