The Opportunity
Ventia’s energy networks and renewables team will support the delivery of grid connection assets from the generation facility to Queensland’s electricity grid.
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on (Brisbane-based) Project Engineer to join our growing team to support the delivery of renewable energy projects nationwide, including greenfield and brownfield works on substations and related infrastructure.
As Project Engineer, you will provide technical and project support throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications, quality requirements, and project objectives. You will also support procurement and pre-construction activities through technical reviews and stakeholder coordination.
Other responsibilities will include but are not limited:
• Review design documentation and ensure project teams understand the scope, technical requirements, and specifications.
• Participate in design reviews and constructability assessments to support efficient project delivery.
• Develop and implement ITP’s and ITR’s for the projects.
• Ensure all health, safety, environmental, and quality management requirements are compliant.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractor and supplier engagements, including technical reviews, negotiations, and procurement activities.
• Support the delivery of construction activities by providing technical guidance and resolving project issues as they arise.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.
• Assist with tender documentation, process and procurement activities.
About You
• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering (recognised by Engineers Australia).
• Solid knowledge of Australian electrical Standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• 3+ years in a similar role within HV substation construction or expansion
• Understanding of project budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong stakeholder management including subcontractor management
