The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Transport Sector for an experienced Electrical Technician to join our team at Western Sydney Airport.
The role is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, testing, fault-finding and repair of electrical, instrumentation, control, mechanical and process systems supporting water and wastewater treatment facilities. You will contribute to asset reliability, regulatory compliance, operational performance and safety through the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance activities.
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm
On-Call: Rotating roster – 1 week on call, followed by 2 weeks off

Key Accountabilities
- Conduct routine inspection, maintenance, testing, calibration, and fault finding across water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Maintain pumps, motors, valves, dosing systems, instrumentation, SCADA/PLC, and associated plant and equipment.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on HV/LV electrical infrastructure in accordance with relevant standards and procedures.
- Assist with the operation and maintenance of wastewater, recycled water, and associated infrastructure.
- Record maintenance, inspections, test results, and asset information in maintenance management systems.
- Coordinate and supervise specialist contractors undertaking maintenance, testing, and repairs.
- Participate in emergency response and after-hours callouts as required.
- Ensure all work complies with WHS, environmental legislation, and airport operational procedures.
About You
Essential:
- Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
- NSW Electrical Licence
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence
- Demonstrated experience in water treatment operations and maintenance
- Experience maintaining electrical, mechanical and process equipment
- Experience with HV switching and electrical operations
- PLC/SCADA maintenance and fault-finding experience
Desirable:
- Current First Aid, CPR and LVR certification
- Working at Heights certification
- Confined Spaces certification
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
