Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Delivery Project Engineer to join our Sydney Roads and Asset Performance portfolio. This opportunity suits engineers with hands-on civil experience across pavements, barrier systems, earthworks, utility relocations and live traffic environments who are ready to take the next step in their career.
You will manage the end-to-end delivery of a rolling program of civil improvement projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to client expectations. This includes planning and approvals, delivery readiness, utility coordination, construction, completion and handover.

Key Accountabilities
- Deliver project milestones in line with approved schedules and contractual requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain detailed construction programmes, including short-term lookahead schedules for effective communication across the project team.
- Plan and execute construction staging, sequencing, and methodologies to optimise project delivery.
- Monitor project costs against budget and prepare accurate monthly cost reports and forecasts.
- Identify, assess, and support the preparation of contractual claims, including variations, extensions of time (EOTs), and delay claims.
- Implement and maintain robust quality assurance systems to ensure compliance with client specifications, including ITPs, checklists, and required project records.
- Actively participate in regular meetings with clients and internal project teams to ensure alignment and progress.
- Effectively manage and coordinate multiple subcontractors to achieve programme, quality, and safety objectives.
- Consistently deliver strong Risk and SHEQ performance, fostering trust and confidence with stakeholders.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in the road or transport construction industry, with demonstrated capability managing works within live traffic environments.
- Experience working under TfNSW contracts, specifications and project requirements will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar project delivery or site based construction role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and engage confidently with a range of stakeholders.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by a strategic, practical and solutions-focused mindset.
- Flexibility to work occasional night shifts as required to meet project and delivery requirements.
- Current General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s licence.
