About the role
This role sits within the Operations Contracts Team and supports the effective management of complex operational contracts that underpin essential water services.
As a Specialist – Operations Contracts, you will contribute across the lifecycle of assigned contracts, supporting governance, commercial outcomes, risk management, and compliance. The role requires sound judgement, strong analytical capability, and the ability to work effectively across technical and operational environments.
This opportunity is suited to experienced contracts, commercial, or legally trained professionals who are interested in applying their skills in a practical, operational setting.

What the role will involve
- Contribute to the management and governance of operational contracts
- Assist with contract interpretation and the resolution of contractual issues
- Support assessment of claims, variations, disputes, and commercial correspondence
- Monitor contract performance, risks, and obligations across assigned contracts
- Contribute to assurance, compliance, and record‑keeping activities
- Prepare clear documentation, reports, and recommendations
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external parties
Stakeholder engagement & influence
- Work closely with operational, commercial, technical, and corporate stakeholders to support effective contract outcomes
- Translate contractual, commercial, and risk considerations into clear, practical advice for non‑specialist audiences
- Support informed decision‑making by presenting issues, options, and implications in a balanced and pragmatic way
- Contribute to constructive resolution of issues where stakeholder priorities or interpretations differ
What you will bring
- Experience in contract management, commercial roles, or legal environments
- Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills
- Ability to apply judgement in complex or ambiguous situations
- Understanding of governance and risk management principles
- Legal qualifications or legal experience are well regarded, but not essential.
