About the role
Working at the intersection of culture, landscape, and design, you’ll engage directly with Traditional Owners to understand Cultural landscapes, stories, songlines, and Dreaming tracks, and translate these into the physical design and visual presence of major water infrastructure.
It’s about ensuring Aboriginal Cultural values are embedded as core design drivers from the very beginning.

What the role will involve
- Guide major projects with Cultural Heritage and Native Title expertise from planning through to delivery
- Embed Aboriginal Cultural values into design, influencing landscapes, infrastructure, and community outcomes
- Lead strategies and approvals under relevant Heritage legislation
- Engage with Traditional Owners, building genuine, respectful, and enduring relationships
- Shape organisational policy and frameworks aligned with best practice, including international standards (e.g. UNESCO obligations)
- Influence decision-makers and project teams to deliver Culturally informed, future-focused solutions
About you
We’re looking for someone who combines technical excellence with Cultural insight and authentic engagement:
- Deep knowledge of WA Aboriginal Heritage and Native Title frameworks
- Proven experience advising on complex infrastructure or planning projects
- Strong track record working directly with Traditional Owners
- Ability to translate cultural knowledge into practical design and project outcomes
- Exceptional influencing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- A passion for embedding Cultural respect and integrity into everything you do
