As a Crane Operator, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the safe and efficient delivery of distribution network upgrades across Western Australia. This hands-on position involves operating mobile slewing cranes and working across both metro and regional areas to enhance infrastructure reliability and resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned distribution works, including installation and replacement of poles, ground stays, transformers, and switchgear
- Operate mobile slewing cranes to support pole replacements and lifting activities
- Assist with network upgrade projects such as reconductoring and transformer installations, including plant operation
- Contribute to network resilience initiatives, particularly in regional communities
- Work across metropolitan and regional WA to support infrastructure improvement efforts
- Ensure all field operations are conducted in line with safety, quality, and compliance standards

What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking skilled and safety-focused Crane Operators who bring experience, qualifications, and a great attitude to the team, as well as:
- Valid Mobile Slewing Crane ticket with demonstrated hands-on experience in crane operations
- Proven background in powerline work, particularly within Western Australia
- Experience working on Western Power projects is advantageous but not essential
- Crane supplementary training and live work experience are highly desirable
- Current driver’s licence: HR class is strongly preferred
- High Risk Work Licences including C2 - C6, DG, LF, CV, or higher
