About the role
We are seeking an experienced Analyst to join our Portfolio Management Office. This role plays a critical part in enabling effective portfolio planning, resource optimisation and decision-making across a large and complex technology environment.
In this role you will work closely with delivery leaders, project managers and senior stakeholders to analyse portfolio health, manage scheduling and resource demand, and provide meaningful insights that support successful project and program delivery.

What the role will involve
- Analysing and reporting on portfolio health, schedules, risks, issues and resource constraints
- Developing and maintaining effort-based, resource-loaded schedules across a portfolio of technology initiatives
- Producing high-quality portfolio-level reporting and insights to support executive decision-making
- Designing and maintaining automated performance dashboards that clearly visualise flow, predictability and delivery outcomes across teams and ARTs.
- Collaborating with Platform teams to understand scheduling and resource needs
- Supporting forward planning through alignment with portfolio planning processes
- Maintaining and promoting best-practice scheduling standards across both waterfall and agile delivery methodologies
- Driving continuous improvement in scheduling, reporting and resource management practices
- Ensuring compliance with governance frameworks, policies, and ethical standards
Key skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A degree in IT, business, project management or a related discipline or substantial equivalent experience
- Strong experience in PMO, Portfolio Management, or Project Controls within both Agile & Waterfall environments, ideally within a government or large, complex organisation
- Demonstrated experience with portfolio-level reporting, scheduling and portfolio resource demand and supply analysis
- Confidence presenting insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Expert understanding of workforce planning frameworks across waterfall and agile environments
- Strong knowledge of resource forecasting, coordination and capacity planning
- Highly developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Well-developed report writing and communication skills
- Strong collaboration, influencing and stakeholder engagement capability
- A values-driven approach that supports a constructive, high-performance culture
- Experience translating project performance data into meaningful business insights and recommendations using proficient Power BI skills.
- Hands-on with planning & tracking tools (e.g. Jira / Confluence, MS Project, and enterprise PPM suites).
