SHEQ Regional Manager – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Total Fixed Remuneration: $180,000 – $200,000
We are seeking an experienced SHEQ Regional Manager to join our team on a 12‑month fixed term contract, supporting large‑scale infrastructure operations across the region.
This role suits a senior SHEQ professional who enjoys working closely with operational leaders, balancing governance with practical site‑based support, and leading teams through complex and fast‑paced environments.
The role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will provide both strategic and hands‑on SHEQ leadership across your portfolio. You’ll be trusted to lead independently while remaining highly connected to project and site activity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a SHEQ team across mining and oil and gas contracts (approximately 4–7 direct reports)
- Driving assurance, audit and risk management programs against established strategy
- Analysing incidents and hazards to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Leading and overseeing incident investigations and regulator engagement
- Partnering with Project Directors and operational leaders to embed effective SHEQ strategy and direction
- Ensuring legislative, contractual and internal compliance requirements are met across reporting contracts.
- Contributing to a practical, engaged and accountable safety culture
About you
You are a calm, credible SHEQ leader with the experience and confidence to operate at senior levels of the business.
You will bring:
- 5+ years’ experience in SHEQ leadership roles
- Background in mining, oil and gas, construction, utilities or a similar operational environment
- Strong experience across audits, assurance and incident management
- Sound working knowledge of WHS, environmental and quality frameworks
- ICAM or Taproot investigation experience and lead auditor capability
- Diploma in WHS (degree preferred)
- A collaborative, practical and solutions‑focused leadership style
