Our Ventia Graduate Program is designed to turn potential into performance. This tailored two-year program provides practical experience across diverse, live projects through four structured one on one rotations. You'll gain exposure to strategic SHEQ governance, systems, performance and business-wide initiatives, develop core SHEQ capabilities in lower-risk operational environments, and build critical risk management and safety leadership skills in complex, high-consequence settings.
In just two years, you’ll gain access to tailored professional development, blending technical training and essential soft skills to fast-track your transition from university to industry. Supported by senior mentors and a dedicated graduate buddy, you'll be guided every step of the way as you gain real work experience and make a real impact across the communities and industries we serve.

To be eligible for the Ventia Graduate Program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Successfully completed relevant undergraduate degree in the last two years or be in your final semester of study.
- Hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship, Permanent residency, or Graduate Visa 485 (valid until the end of 2028).
- Willingness to travel and relocate for the duration of the rotation.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of SHEQ programs and initiatives to improve safety, quality, environmental performance, and operational excellence.
- Assist operational teams in identifying, assessing, and managing workplace risks across diverse environments.
- Participate in audits, inspections, investigations, and compliance activities to support risk management and continuous improvement.
- Analyse SHEQ data and performance trends to contribute to reporting, decision-making, and improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with employees, leaders, contractors, and stakeholders to promote a positive safety culture and achieve SHEQ objectives.
Skills & Requirements
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Highly organised, adaptable, and accountable, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in fast-paced environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a curious mindset and passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Demonstrated interest in safety, health, environment, quality, or risk management through study, work experience, projects, or extracurricular activities.
- Exposure to data analysis and reporting tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI), and experience with safety, compliance, risk, or assurance activities is highly regarded.
